Week 3 Daniel and lions

 Talk time.  What did you do this week? Do you like coming to church - why? Pray and thank God for church.

Do you think Daniel was brave? I think he was very brave. The king told him not to worship God but Daniel kept praying to God anyway.  Even when it was really dangerous he knew he had to keep praying and worshipping and following God.  How do you think Daniel felt when he knew he was going to be thrown in with lions?  Why do you think Daniel kept following God instead of following the kings orders? Do you think God helped Daniel to be brave? Can you think of anyone else God helped to be brave ( Noah, Jonah, Jesus)

Sometimes we need to be brave. Maybe when we hurt ourselves.  Sometimes we might need an injection from the doctor and it might hurt a bit.  Maybe we have to go to nursery or somewhere we havent been before and we are a bit worried. God is really good at helping people to be brave.  He gives us courage. He helps us feel better because He is always with us.

Game

Ive collected a few toy lions.  Put the kids under a table covered with a blanket and throw in the lions for them to play with, acting out the story.

Feed the Lion

Ive got a lion shaped posting box and some pictures of food and people. Post the food into the lion's mouth but not the people!

Week 12 Gideon

Watch  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3CDZjpkDKU     Remind the child of Gideon and his call to be a judge and conquer the Midianites . Ask the child if Gideon was excited or scared when God called him . Point out that the army of the Midianites was very large and  strong .  Ask the child if they think a big or a small army would be better to defeat an enemy with lots of soldiers .  Point out that God told Gideon to make the army smaller so that everyone would know that God alone  gave Gideon the victory . Remind the child that God still can provide people who trust Him with the  victory .  Put out a bowl of water and tell your child to take a drink ( this is better done outside to avoid a mess ) . Depending on how your child chooses to drink , you can talk about whether or not he would have been part of Gideon's army . Week5Joseph

  Talk time: Who here has brothers? Who has sisters? Who has no brothers or sisters? Do you like your siblings? Whats the best things about them? Any downsides? If we dont have brothers and sisters we can have friends instead.  God says He will always give us people who love us and look out for us. Lets say thank you to God for our brothers and sisters and our friends. (write down the names of all siblings so we can name them all - I think nearly all our kids have at least one) Lesson: Today we are going to learn about someone in the Bible who had LOTS of brothers.
