Nativity 1 angels

Who knows what month it is?

Its December.  Who knows what season it is ? Its winter. 

Who knows what happens at the end of this month, on December 25th?

Does anyone know why we celebrate Christmas?  Because it's Jesus's birthday!!

Today we are going to find out what happened before Jesus was born because lots of amazing things happened. Let's watch this story.

Angels are God's special friends. They live in heaven with God and normally we cant see them. But sometimes God sends them to people with a special message. He sent an angel to Mary and she could see the angel and talk to it. Joseph had a dream about an angel. The angels both had a message from God.  What did the angels say?  That God was going to send a baby into Mary's tummy and that the baby was going to be Jesus.

We are going to find out what happened next, next week. Today we are going to make angels

Ask the child if Gideon was excited or scared when God called him .   Talk time: Who here has brothers? Who has sisters? Who has no brothers or sisters? Do you like your siblings? Whats the best things about them? Any downsides? If we dont have brothers and sisters we can have friends instead.  God says He will always give us people who love us and look out for us. Lets say thank you to God for our brothers and sisters and our friends. (write down the names of all siblings so we can name them all - I think nearly all our kids have at least one) Lesson: Today we are going to learn about someone in the Bible who had LOTS of brothers.
