Week 8 Ruth

How can we be good friends. Show pictures of famous 'friends'   from stories (eg Anna and Elsa,  Pooh and Piglet, etc) and get the kids to match the right friends together. Talk about how Ruth helped Naomi by getting food for her.  How can we be helpful?  Mention that Ruth worked hard all day to get food because she loved her mother-in-law and wanted to do her very best for her.  Show that because Ruth was kind to Naomi God made sure that Boa was kind to Ruth, Sequencing  colour cut and stick Craft = make a friendship bracelet to give to a friend Play at gathering the wheat into buckets and play with the tractors and animals at being farmers Pocket prayer Bunnies Bye

Week 7 Rahab

 Talk : Who is a boy (hands up) Who is a girl?  Who is better, boys or girls? (make a joke of this as they will all say their own gender is best) Well guess what? God made boys AND girls and He says that both are super important.  Boys and girls can do different things but we need each other. We need friends who are boys and girls.  In the Bible God used boys and girls to do amazing things. Today we are going to be hearing about a girl who did something really brave .  Talk time :  How strong are you?  Whats the strongest thing you can do? Who can pick me up off the floor? Im stronger than you- I can pick you up. Look!!!  Today we are going to learn about someone in the Bible who was not very strong by himself, but was super-strong with God.  We can be strong with God too.  Lets ask God to make us all strong.  Pray. Week5Joseph

  Talk time: Who here has brothers? Who has sisters? Who has no brothers or sisters? Do you like your siblings? Whats the best things about them? Any downsides? If we dont have brothers and sisters we can have friends instead.  God says He will always give us people who love us and look out for us. Lets say thank you to God for our brothers and sisters and our friends. (write down the names of all siblings so we can name them all - I think nearly all our kids have at least one) Lesson: Today we are going to learn about someone in the Bible who had LOTS of brothers. Week 4 Naaman and servant girl

He was the commander of the army for the king of Syria. Explain how he had everything, but he was sick with bad skin disease called leprosy. Share how in Bible times, it was a very terrible sickness to get. It gave you red and white spots all over your skin, and people were very afraid to catch it from you. If you had leprosy, you would hide away and cover yourself up with your coat so no one could see you Next, introduce the servant girl. Share how Naaman's wife had a servant girl from Israel who told Naaman about Elisha and a God who heals. Make sure you explain the contrast between their social standings and yet how God used the servant girl. Remind your child that God wants us to tell others about Him. Week 3 Daniel and lions

 Talk time.  What did you do this week? Do you like coming to church - why? Pray and thank God for church. Lesson. Week 2 Shadrach Mesach and Abednego

Explain that they were taken to another land and made to serve the king there. Talk about how the people in this foreign land did not know, love or obey God. Explain there are still many people who do not know or obey God. Some live-in foreign lands, and others live in our own home countries. Remind the child that no matter where we are, we should stand for God.  Think about ways that we can stand for God. Talk about how Daniel and his friends refused to eat the food God told them not to eat. (The focus should not be the type of food, but the obedience.)
